Basically he got 6 months for "taking pictures" in court. Is the sentence a bit over the top as muggers get less than that nowadays - They tend to get community service and bound over.

I don't think it's OTT. He screwed up a whole trial, and who's to say that he wasn't videoing the jurors or witnesses with a view to intimidating them later?

its not over the top if they had a sign on the door saying not to photgraph any of the proceedings going on in the room

but if they didnt then yes, thats stupid

not quite sure why they had to abort the trial because of some dudes photo's tho
