    Exclamation Arrrrghhh...Americans!!!!

    http://forums.pimprig.com/forumdisplay.php?f=31

Ahem. Sorry about that...needed to vent.

Hi my name's Oli, live in Minehead, Somerset. Been posting on Pimprig for well over a year now...was a News Staff member...twice. It seems the Americans are becoming bulshy not only over light religious debates (that were quickly removed and slapped across the face and body with a wet fish), but with poitical points and a keen English guy who simply want to have a say - becuase his own country wouldn't listen.

Anyway...political rant over. I indulge in modding and overclocking and have done since about 2001. While my knowledge is vast on modding, getting round to it on a practical scale has been...rare at best. Copius ammounts of travel to work and college saw to that.

So - while I want to get away form the Americans, I can help but feel I will be leaving a hell of a lot of time and effort behind. I need to be with my fellow countrymen. People who can actually say "F*** Bush" and spell colour correctly...and complain becuase petrol prices are 3 times what they are in the US...but we still drive!

Heh...*sigh*. OK i'm done. Good to be here at last.
    GO Hexus!

i always had a foundness for BBC basic, purely because colour was spelt correctly... the british way. *humms national anthem. no, not jurosolum, the proper national anthem*

Britain, were tea has milk, dogs are pug ugly, and young hippies complain about bush completely ignoring the fact most political problems in the world stem from us, the french, the spanish, or the portugease.

If you are going to criticise their spelling, at least make an effort with your own.

I'm american and I can say "**** Bush" any time I please, without being a hypocrite. I didn't vote for the guy.

Also, petrol currently costs less than 50% more in the UK, on average, not three times as much.

I can't spell color correctly though. It just feels too grandiose.

Best just to ignore these people.

Most americans living in mexico or on vacation in mexico are wealthy enough to afford substantial generosity.

I found most Americans to be somewhat insular in their thinking and a little naive on the world in general. Not their fault, more a fault of geography (only 2 close neighbours) and the line they are fed from news outlets and the spin put on history. One thing I did hear a lot of was complaints that it's only the Brits that seem to stand alongside them when they ask for a hand.

Having said that I enjoyed working out there and am looking forward to going back. Most Americans are like people anywhere. Largely friendly and wanting nothing more than to get on with life. Like people everywhere they have there own way of doing that which may or may not irritate the rest of us. The neo-con contingent are a minority, just happen to be a very loud minority with power.

urg, this is the exactly reason i am here, bloody yank banned me from the last forum i was on for the same reason....

i cant help but think it is not their fault though, their indoctrinated through their schools, and their news channels....

but that still doesnt excuse the fact that allmost all assholes i meed online are from america...

edit: or should that be USA? im never sure, because IIRC one includes other countries around it such as canada, and their all cool

Blair isn't as bad as bush though. He's bad, but not anywhere near as bad.

Anyway, I don't think the vast majority of Americans actually have any negative feelings towards the rest of the world, or at least Europe. It's just alot of them have a very different point of view, and a different understanding of things. It's a very introverted country, and one in which the citizens often fail totaly to understand how the rest of the world feels about US actions.
