    Re: Scaryjim's HEXUS-AMD Bundle review

I did have a slight issue with the SSD in which it would not be recognised by the A55 based motherboard every so often. I did update to the latest SSD firmware version and the Windows based flashing utility was not too bad TBH. However, with my socket 1155 based system, the SSD seems to be a bit more stable than my OCZ Vertex. OTH,my OCZ Vertex seems more stable with my socket 775 9300 based system than my socket 1155 based system.

    Oh,the joys of SSD compatability!!

CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."

for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

The Vertex I have is the first one with the Indilinx controller, and at times would not want to boot with my H67N. Funnily enough, the Kingston drive has not had this issue with the H67N,and neither has the Vertex with my 9300 based motherboard.

    Re: Scaryjim's HEXUS-AMD Bundle review

OK, probably a last word on the subject. It's been over 3 weeks now and not a peep of BSOD from my laptop, so the latest HyperX 3k firmware appears to work. I understand new technology has teething issues, but tbh Kingston had released the original HyperX almost a year before the 3k version, and the two drives are hardware identical apart from the grade of NAND flash used. It's a bit disappointing that they had identical hardware almost a year old and still had these issues. It's certainly made me more cautious about future SSD purchases.

But, all's well as end's well, as they say I have a lovely, fast, quiet laptop, thanks of Hexus & AMD. Cheers guys

One more quick update to make. I haven't loaded the APU with torchlight - no no, that would be nice I've recently got mildly hooked on Dungeon Siege III, and after a couple of hour session this weekend I figured I'd have a quick look at Speedfan to see what - if any - damage I'd done.

I didn't notice the fan at all during game play (unsurprisingly, as I had the speakers belting out), and when I check the temp history it hadn't shifted above 45C. In my book, that's pretty damn impressive
