    First time build

    Hi,
I'm looking to build a computer for about £800. This is what I came up with with one of my friends but this is the first time I'm building a computer and I'm not sure about compatibility etc. I was hoping you could take a quick look at what I've got, let me know if it's ok or if you've got any suggestions for improvements. I'm intending to use it to run BF3 at 1920x1080.

    Windows 7 HP 64 bit (LN29161)
    1TB Samsung F3 (LN28746)
    Samsung DVD RW (LN39293)
    Corsair Memory Vengeance Blue 8GB DDR3 1600MHz (LN38169)
    1gb Gigabyte GTX 560ti OC (LN37516)
    Fractal Design R3 case (LN41931)
    i5 2500k (LN36726)
    Coolermaster Hyper TX3 Evo (LN42631)
    Gigabyte GA-Z68AP-D3 (LN40916)
Corsair 650w non modular PSU (LN37704)

I've included the Scan product codes in case you need any more information.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Corkian mentioned to me that he couldn't post images yet so here is the build picture (albeit hideously small).

I'd go with a modular PSU if one isn't too much more, it'll make your case a lot tider.
Another thing to consider would be swapping the RAM for the Corsair Vengeance LP (Low Profile). Its pretty much the same but you won't get any issues with CPU coolers (Should you decide to go after market further down the line) as it doesn't have the large cooling fins.

    Re: First time build

    Yes it's compatible.
Agree about getting RAM without tall heatspreaders as they are unnecessary and are just liable to cause compatibility issues.

The XFX Pro 650W Core Edition 80Plus Bronze (£65.58 LN42589 P1-650S-UKB9) is the same internally as the Corsair 650TXV2, so unless there is something about Corsair as a company that makes you willing to pay £5 more then you should get the cheaper XFX.

If you want a modular PSU then these are some suggestions:

    Antec Truepower New TPN-650 80Plus Bronze Modular (£65.58 LN28584)
    XFX 650W XXX Edition 80Plus Bronze Modular (£69.90 LN42595)

Considering that the motherboard doesn't have an SLI certification/ support SLI then you don't need as much as a 650W PSU for a build with a single card.
