    Pc Upgrade

    Hey,

So a while ago I foolishly bought a prebuilt Advent ci 5231 from PC World and learnt a week after about the wonders of building computers from scratch. From then on I slowly upgraded parts to get to my current spec : -

    CPU - i5 650 ( Stock Clock )
    Motherboard - Foxconn P55a ( Doesn't let me OC )
    GPU - ATI 5570 -> Upgraded to 6950 2GB
640GB WD Blue HDD -> added an extra 500GB
    4GB asint ram
430W Generic PSU -> Upgraded to Antec HCG 750W
    Case - Advent case

So at christmas I treated myself to 3 monitors to run on eyefinity and have been loving it ever since however I have been feeling a bit of a slow down and the case is pretty bad, making the GPU run extremely hot and thought an upgrade would be in need.

So far I have thought of :
    ( Sorry, I cant post links >.< )
    Intel Core i5 2500k - £160
    Silverstone RV-03 - £95
    Gigabyte-ga-z77x-d3h
    Corsair ddr3 vengence low profile 8gb 12800 1600

And a second 6950 later on from OCUK when they next have a deal on.

I have about £400 to spend and need a motherboard with xfire capability, is this the best I can do for the money? are there any improvements? any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

    Re: Pc Upgrade

You are running on Eyefinity, so, that will surely put a lot of extra work on the graphics card. With the current chassis having not enough cooling for the GPU, heat makes the issue worse. Your upgrade thoughts look okay, but I'd prefer an Asus Z68 or Z77 mobo (I'm a bit of an Asus fan boy, LOL). That Gigabyte is nice though, with you expecting to be running on crossfire, there would be enough space between cards for cooling with that mobo.
