    Mini-ITX Build

New build below, opinions appreciated as Ive been out of the loop for a good few years now. No gaming/not interested in overclocking on the system, main aims are an all round workhorse (current system is a bit sluggish with multitasking). Want to keep the system small and quiet hence mini-itx (leaving stock cooling for now, but will change this once I have the system in case I find it too noisy).

    Intel 3570K Retail
    Asus P8H77-I
    Crucial M4 128gb
    WD Caviar Green 3TB
    8GB Corsair Vengeance (1600mhz C9)
    Lian-Li PC-Q11B
    XFX 550W Pro
    Sony Optiarc AD-5280S

Comes in at about £615-620 and generally want to stick within £500-700.

    Opinions welcome and appreciated.

    Thanks.

    What are your workloads??

    Edit!!

Would you consider any other cases??

    The FT03-Mini for example??

    Re: Mini-ITX Build

    Case

Your case does look rather large for a mini-itx one, is the Hard drive a 3.5" one?

There are plenty of smaller cases for sure, but have you considered a micro atx one to give more choices on motherboards.

The Fractal Design Define Mini for instance, is a bit larger, but it has sound proofing material to keep it quieter and gives you more flexbility inside.

    The Lian Li: (W) 200mm x (H) 326mm x (D) 260mm

    Fractal Design Mini: (W) 210 x (H) 395 x (D) 490mm

    PSU
About the PSU, I couldn't find a sound rating for the one you've chosen - but it might be worth getting a really quiet one listed by quietpc.com
