    PSU Requirements for 7870 XFire

    Hi folks,

I'm considering adding a second 7870 graphics card to my existing build, but am unsure what psu would be best.

I'm currently running on an 850w Thermaltake PSU, and unfortunately this does not have enough pci-e power connections for me to add the second card.

    AMD phenom II x6 1050t
    16GB Corsair Vengeance RAM
    120gb ocz agility3 ssd
    1TB Western Digital HDD
    Pioneer blu-ray RW drive
    XFX AMD 7870 DD edition
    Asus M5A99x rev 2 motherboard

Any suggestions and advice would be welcomed.

    Thanks

    x2 molex to 6pin pci-e adapter

Providing the power connectors on the graphics card are both 6pin of course (I think some are 6pin + 8pin?)

Hadn't considered the molex solution. Would an 850W PSU be enough to run two of these in XFire?

do you oc your cpu ? do you have air or water how many lights fans . ??
and depends on the power supply but yeah it should .. you may want to go to a 950 or 1100..if you havent bought it yet ..
    just in case

No I haven't overclocked the CPU yet although I'm considering that in the near future too. Currently just have a zalman flower cooler on the CPU, and 2 case fans. No other lights.

I was looking at a modular 1050w psu.
