    Well sure, but in that case he should get a 4770K and a decent case and why stop at an H80i?

    At some point value has to come into it.

    He'd still be better off on all fronts with a decent air cooler.

    I do agree that he would be better having an air cooler if he wants to keep cost down. I personally think that the look of an AIO watercooler is better than an air cooler but that really depends on how bothered he is about that. If he does get an aircooler though he may have to be careful over his choice of ram due to clearance so something low profile is going to be a requirement

    He's already chosen low profile ram, and anyway it's only a problem with the giant coolers.

    I picked up a Megalehem for a tenner a while ago and tried it on my IB i5....it's still on there 4.4GHz and haven't bothered to push harder. You really don't need exotic cooling for a mid-range overclock anymore. Heatpipes, lower TDPs and better power management mean coolers aren't working as hard as they used to Hell, the 3770 has just over half the TDP of the i7 950.
