& My stock clock Unigine Valley Benchmark score is 2957
Doesn't seem to want to run on my GPU overclock despite it working fine with games?
Edit: Just realised I ran that on custom, will post for Extreme HD

Here's the actual benchmark, comparing to this it seems to be about where expected? Stock settings.
Do you mean stock settings as in the card not overclocked?
Another thing you can try if you want to tweak - you may well be able to run your memory at 2133MHz or even 2400MHz. It may need the voltage upping from 1.5v to 1.65v.
That's a very nice bump. My Haswell 4770K and 7970 both overclocked gets about 57fps I think (but cost twice what you've paid).
Working at 2133mhz @ 1.65. Wouldn't boot at 2400.
You'd find that if you lowered the timings it'd probably work at 2400MHz, but if you've got it at 2133MHz on the same timings as 1866MHz that's brilliant!
(I think you've got fantastic results from your build)
Thanks, I'm very pleased I think I'll stick with it at 2133MHz Everything seems to be running nice now. The memory adjustment has bettered my 3DMark 11 score slightly to 9013, although I think the graphics OC is lower than last time. I think I'll keep it running at these settings for now as they all seem to work good. I'm glad I spent time researching parts as the results have turned out good!

Benchmarks will vary a bit between runs as well. There's no point really in putting it at 2400MHz if you have to loosen the timings, as that will remove most of the benefit. Some games will benefit from that 4.8GHz overclock though (games that are more CPU intensive).
Lots of people instantly dismiss AMD systems as gaming PCs but this is a good example of how well it can work.
Here's my result, but bear in mind my card cost me £400 and my CPU £265!

(It's barely any faster)
So ~£300 gets 45fps/1886 and £665 gets 58fps/2406.. It seems that once you start to get above the price I paid you have to pay a larger and larger premium for more performance. Still I guess that's just the way PC prices scale! Nice specs by the way, I would have loved to build something like that but the budget just wasn't there.
Edit: Also out of interest what is your score for 'Extreme HD' preset, I see your benchmark is set to 4xAA at Ultra Quality?
Nope - I posted the wrong benchmark Check the link now!
My card is voltage locked so I can't overclock it very much, otherwise I'd be able to get quite a bit higher I think.
Yeah I'd think so, I didn't realise quite how small the performance jump to price was! I'm sure in real world gaming etc your 4770k and 7970 will far outperform my set up, it's just interesting to see benchmarks.
I'd guess that this benchmark is much more GPU bound than CPU, and your card overclocked is very close to mine. Still, it's showing that your new system here is nearly matching a much higher cost one with Intel's top of the range CPU. That's certainly nothing to complain about
