    £750 budget gaming PC.

I already ordered the case since that's the one thing I'm 100% on. Unsure of the motherboard if there are better alternatives though I want it to be SLi able.(Yes I know my case will be too small for 2x gigabyte gtx 970s). Also I am planning on getting an SSD soon but for now it's not that important to me.

Have you included a copy of Windows??

I would also consider the R9 290 and GTX780 as these can be had for around £200 now(and will cheaper once you sell the games too).

Also worth considering the gigabyte z97x-sli, which you may find a bit cheaper than the gamer 3. Still has xfire/sli/M2 and sata express support, and has alc1150 sound chip.

Can second MSI GAMING range motherboards. But the Killer LAN controller is practically useless. Increase and speed up transmission between the router and your PC but beyond that, for online gaming, no use.

if your not overclocking then i would go for the Xeon e3 1230 V3 which is around about the same as speed as a i7 4770.

The only differences are you cant really overclock and its has got no IGP with it but its only £180-£200

Much better than the i5 4670K which is £170 or more to buy.

I have a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate, as for the r9 I was considering it but since I have the money for the gtx why not go for it?

I originally wanted to buy the MSI Z97-G45 GAMING but I then switched over to a gigabyte board since I wanted it to match the GPU brand. Just preference really.

I'll have to look into it a bit but thanks for the suggestion.

I do plan on overclocking however only a little bit later down the line when I can also pick up a better cooler.

I originally planned on getting the msi 45 gaming however in the end I decided I'd go for a gigabyte board as it would match the GPU. Also the fact that gigabyte are known to be very reliable as opposed to msi boards in this price range helped sway my decision a little bit.

I have the money for a gtx 970 so I might as well get it, and I do have a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate ready and waiting.

Just out of interest, what led you to choose the Windforce over the MSI or Strix cards? I prefer the Strix myself, but both it and the MSI have a semi-passive cooling mode, where the fans don't spin up until around 65C, which the Windforce does not IIRC.

    Maybe the warranty reputation?

I would pick either Gigabyte or EVGA over most other brands because of their warranties even if it meant taking a small performance hit and paying a little bit extra over the Asus and MSI prices and I use to consider myself a bit of an Asus fan boy up until quite recently.

Fair enough, have you had problems with the Asus warranty? My laptop went faulty after around 4 months and they sorted it out very quickly and with little effort on my part. I left out EVGA as there have been reports that the heatsink and core were not aligned properly. If its just warranty length, dont MSI have the same warranty length (36 months) as EVGA and Gigabyte?

(I'm not OP) I'm choosing the Gigabyte one personally because it is the most powerful out of the Gigabyte, MSI and Asus and can overclock the best.

    Re: £750 budget gaming PC.

I can understand that, the only thing that put me off was the lack of a passive mode. I prefer mine as quiet as I can get them. I'm thinking about upgrading the cards in my watercooled rig, and I'm looking at the Gigabyte for that. The only real thing is that the waterblocks I have on my current cards fit the Asus card (according to EK anyways), so that would save me some cash.
