Review of this build...any help appreciated!

Been a long time since I have been in here

Just need a quick check on a build someone in the office has asked for guidance on.

They have a 970ti card already, Corsair 1000W PSU and a few SSD's so its just a case of modernising the rest.

The build items I have given him are...

    • Intel Core i7 5820K Unlocked, S 2011-3, Haswell-E, 6 Core, 3.3GHz Clock, 3.6GHz Turbo, 15MB, 28 Lane, 140W, CPU, Retail
    • Gigabyte GA-X99M-Gaming 5, Intel X99, S 2011-3, DDR4, SATA III 6Gb/s, SATA RAID, PCIe 3.0 (x16), Micro ATX
    • Corsair Hydro Series H100i GTX 240mm High Performance Multi CPU Liquid Cooler
    • 250GB Samsung 850 EVO, M.2 (2280) SSD
    • 2 x 16GB (2x8GB) Corsair DDR4 Vengeance LPX Red, PC4-21300 (2666)
    • Corsair Carbide Series Air 240 High Airflow micro-ATX PC Case - Black

Anyone see any conflict in the system above? Just want to make sure I haven't made any glaring errors in my suggestions...

    TIA!

    There's no such thing as a 970ti.

Assuming he's doing the number crunching to warrant an X99 system then it looks good, but I'd junk the SATA M.2 SSD and go for something more standard or leave it out entirely.

Oh, you want 4x4GB sticks for an X99 system as it uses quad channel memory.

2666 MHz is a good choice Matt as we've had a few issues of where speeds of 2800 and 3000 MHz have had to be downclocked on the X99 platform and the 32GB in 4x8 is fine for the quad channel requirements

All the rest appears to be fine as well so I wouldn't recommend changing anything

Looks solid, I would get normal sata main drive over m.2 personally but that's just me, either works. other than that looks solid, and what is 970ti I want one I think.

Thanks all - the ti moniker was a mistake from him (I haven't kept track of variations so wasn't in a place to correct him)

    Turns out its a just a 970...

    Thanks again, appreciated.
