    Re: £800 Gaming Build

Seems like a good spec on the whole. What type of games does she play? That price for the RX 570 is very good for an 8Gb card! I would personally go for 16Gb of system RAM myself, but given the budget, 8Gb is a reasonable compromise. You probably don't need a 700W PSU, but the price is pretty good for the spec (it's made by CWT who have a pretty good rep).

    I found this monitor on Hotukdeals.com :

    https://www.box.co.uk/UM.QE6EE.001-A...&siteid=116019

Legit OEM Windows licenses are quite expensive, unfortunately...

    Re: £800 Gaming Build

I believe my brief was fortnite and rainbow seize 6 on high lol as well as GTA5 and a few others.

Would of loved to get 16gb of ram but looking at like a extra £80 on the bundle price, can't believe how expensive it is these days.

Looked at a few reviews for the PSU and seems solid for £60 can't see anything better for the money tbh.

Cheers on the monitor, doesn't look bad for the money.

    Re: £800 Gaming Build

The Gigabyte boards don't have the best VRM cooling BTW. The MSI boards seem some of the best of the cheaper AM4 boards though, especially the B450M Mortar and B450 Tomahawk.

This is what I would consider:

    https://www.cclonline.com/product/25...board/MBD2479/
    https://www.cclonline.com/product/25...ooler/CPU0537/
    https://www.cclonline.com/product/24...Gray-/RAM3683/
    https://www.cclonline.com/product/24...Drive/SSD0675/

The motherboard,CPU,RAM and SSD come to £344,but it is a much better motherboard than the Gigabyte one,and people are running Ryzen 7 CPUs on it. The motherboard is a tad cheaper here:

    https://www.ebuyer.com/854874-msi-b4...d-b450m-mortar

If you don't really intend to overclock that much, this one seems to have a good reputation on Reddit:

    https://www.ebuyer.com/854881-asrock...ard-b450m-pro4
    https://www.scan.co.uk/products/asro...plusc-microatx

It is a 3+3+2 phase VRM but actually seems to have decentish heatsinks. That would drop the cost down to around £325.

The £160 RX570 8GB deal is off Scan I assume:

    https://www.scan.co.uk/products/8gb-...xdp-hdmi-dvi-d

If you sell those games which it comes with that will drop the cost a bit. I assume this is the case:

    https://www.cclonline.com/product/25...hite-/CAS3323/

The Toshiba HDD is much cheaper here:

    https://www.cclonline.com/product/19...Bulk-/HDD2677/

    You don't need such a huge PSU. I am running a Ryzen 5 2600 and a GTX1080FE off a 450W PSU! A Corsair CX450/CX450M would suffice.

Regarding the PSU,CCL Computers sells the Antec NeoECO M 650W for under £60:

    https://www.cclonline.com/product/23...W-GB-/PSU1428/

It is CWT made. Scan has the Gigabyte for £50:

    https://www.scan.co.uk/products/700w...-1x120mm-fan-a

If you are going for gaming, the AOC G2460VQ6 is TN based but actually is one of the best budget gaming monitors, but costs around £130 as it has a 35HZ~75HZ FreeSync range. If you don't mind dropping FreeSync this 24" IPS monitor is only £75:

    https://www.ebuyer.com/785672-acer-s...ign=hotukdeals

The only issue here is a Windows 10 license is expensive at £80 to £90. If there wasn't the need for an expensive case in the build,it actually might have been doable with £800.

    Re: £800 Gaming Build

Aye discussed the case in length and it has to stay sadly, the PSU is the same one i listed had wrote the price down wrong, for £50 i can't see anything better especially with flat cables.

Totally forgot about CCL tbh, was looking at aria, novatech etc.

Would rather stick to full ATX if possible, what would your recommendation be between the Gigabyte B450 AORUS ELITE AMD Socket AM4 & MSI B450 TOMAHAWK AMD Socket AM4 Motherboard

Like the look of the monitor, other one i considered was iiyama G2530HSU-B1 24.5" G-Master HD LED Gaming Monitor with FreeSync and USB - Black

Scan currently have the Aorus elite for £90 on a today only.

The B450 Tomahawk then - Gigabyte has really shocked by screwing up the cooling of its VRMs on its B450 boards which is a shame as they had cashback on many of their boards making them very cheap just until recently. Its why I went with a Asus B450 mini -ITX motherboard:

    https://forums.hexus.net/pc-hardware...enchmarks.html

OTH,I don't think the boards will explode either but seems they should have paid more attention to things.

So Buildzoid look at the B450 Mortar and he said for a CPU(not APU since no heatsinks on the SOC section unlike the Tomahawk) build he was impressed:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSqhVlpgw3U

The B450 Tomahawk is the ATX version and has heatsinks on all sections.

The Iiyama looks quite nice actually(although again it is a TN monitor),but the AOC does have a larger range:

    https://uk.hardware.info/reviews/641...t-aoc-g2460vq6

If you could go for the 22" model, you would save £30 and the one I saw a mate use was not too bad at all.
