Budget: Around £1000. Could stretch to around £1200 "if it's really worth it". Case and PSU already available, so saves £100-150 or so I guess depending on pre-built systems out there.

Still only really need it to run at FHD resolutions. 4k nice to have but not essential (he has no 4k monitor, but as an eventual upgrade, might be worth considering).
    What PSU do they have??

    Edit!!

That earlier deal for an RTX3060TI based system is still the best value, because the GPU isn't very overpriced.

If you want to build into your case, unless you can find an RTX3060TI FE,its an RX6600XT of some sort IMHO.

So,a variation of the Core i5 11400F build I suggested before, but I will need to change out the RAM and GPU model as they are both out of stock. The build should be closer to £900 if the case and PSU are accounted for.

Also,if you intending to spend upto the full £1000,it might be possible to put a Ryzen 5 5600X into the build now.

Just follow my notes in post 4 - Everything including a decent case and PSU, with warranty, for under £1000.

Re: PC Build for MS Flight Simulator 2020

I really wouldn't be using anything under a few years old,on a new £400 GPU and on a rig you expect to last another 5 years or so. The older PSUs also lack the proper power states, etc for newer CPUs and might not handle the transient loads that newer GPUs can push. Its one of the things you really shouldn't be skimping on. So basically anything before late 2016,and not rated for 80+ Gold, and does not use decent capacitor brands,I would avoid. Even then that means a decent 5 year old PSU,is going to be 10 years old in 5 years time.

Ultimately that prebuilt deal looks solid IMHO.

Well, I went with the Palicomp solution, and have to say so far, it's pretty impressive.

I added the fast turnaround - they're now saying it'll be built tomorrow and dispatched for a delivery on Wednesday!

They also offered an interesting upgrade with a 3-year warranty. However, with that warranty where they collect and deliver, so not RTB, they also throw in a load of other stuff including Win10 Home licence, some OS tuning, cable management, Arctic Alpine 23 cooler, RAM changes from 4x4GB to 2x8GB so have two slots left to up if I want. Also throw in a headset/mic, a card reader and a random set of 5 Steam game keys (lol).

All for around £1135 inc. Seems pretty good to me

    A Ryzen 5 5600X and RTX3060TI will be a decent upgrade overall!!
