    £620 Build (RAM/CPU/Mainboard)

    So after 8yrs i think its time to upgrade from my 4th Gen i5, problem is because i haven't upgraded the core bits of this rig for so long i am out of touch in which direction to go.

    The £620 comes from the fact i was looking at putting a 8TB sdd in to replace my hdd for bulk storage and i can only afford to do one this year so the thought of replacing came up

    Any pointers ?

    The same RAM kit as you have linked and OFC you need a CPU cooler.

    The Ryzen 7 5700G has less L3 cache,so is closer to a cheaper Ryzen 7 3700X in gaming performance,and it also lacks PCI-E 4.0,which the Ryzen 7 3700X and Ryzen 7 5800X support.

    So tweaked the AMD build per your sugestion, comes in at £512.97, so room to add another 16gb on it if i decide.

    Another vote for 5800X then. The 3D Vcache parts might not be out for months, and we don't know availability or price. AM5 is probably a year off. 3000 series isn't as good for gaming.
