CPU Cooler - Fan has come off!

I am not sure what my order number is; I have a build number and an invoice number. I have used my invoice number.

I turned my 3xs system on to see "Fan Error". Checked the BIOS settings and noted that it was set to the non-overclocked profile (which perhaps makes this more surprising) and that one of the fan readings was "N/A" or similar (I wasn't sure if this was normal, but I now assume it is definitely not).

I powered it off, opened the case to see that the CPU fan was "hanging by a thread". Picture:

The case is the Silverstone Fortress FT02B with the 3 large fans on the maximum setting. It is well ventilated. The system was ordered about 5 months ago.

I am not great with hardware and, more importantly, I am quite short of time at the moment. This is why I ordered a 3xs system. I would appreciate if this could be repaired as soon as possible and free of charge. I assume this will be possible.

I have sent 2 support queries (earlier this week and the week before I believe) and received no response.

Other than this (and the very long build time - 1 month?), I have been very happy with the system so far.

    Thanks
    Paul

Re: CPU Cooler - Fan has come off!

    Hi Paul,

Apologies if you havn't received a response from us through your queries, We'll look into this on Monday.

From your picture it looks like the rubber fan mounts have snapped!

The quickest way to resolve this problem is if we send you a new set of fan mounts on Monday, to be delivered for Tuesday.

They are really simple to fit, and we can give you guidance if needed.

If you could mail your invoice or build numbers to systemsupport@scan.co.uk along with a link to this thread, we can get them in the post to you.

    Regards,

    Rob
