    Flashed Bios

    Hey,
I ordered the 3XS H55 - Radius Edition GTX a little less then a year ago. It has been working brilliantly i have had no problems with it at all up until today.

I was on my computer earlier and experienced a power cut. This on restart the Bios removed the overclocking. This on it's own not a problem as able to reload the settings in the Bios. Unfortunately as i Tried to enter the Bios i pressed end instead of delete which flashed my Bios instead of taking me to the settings.

Is there anything you can do to help me recover the settings?

do you need any more info such as the build number, let me know and I'll supply it.

    Thanks

    David Barr

I'm in a similar position, updated my Gigabyte Z68 BIOS this weekend and lost my overclock settings.

I have my invoice number but cannot find my build number anywhere. Where can I find my build number?

    Regards,

    DC

    Re: Flashed Bios

I received the settings yesterday afternoon by email.

When I tried them I ran prime95 to stress test and it crashed after less than 60 secs. I re-ran prime95 through the night with the Bios on defaults and it was fine in the morning.

I'll try higher core voltages when I get home tonight, up to a max of 1.4v and see what I get to. The settings I was sent were for 1.375v so that gives me 5 steps up to 1.4v to try before giving up.

Paul my Scan Invoice Reference is 00E1731398

    Re: Flashed Bios

For an update, I've tried vcore's up to 1.395v and still no joy with the prime95 test.

I have taken screenshots of the BIOS settings that I have tried on the off-chance that there's a setting in there that I've missed.

    Hope you can help,

    David

    Re: Flashed Bios

    Hi all,

As previously stated by Ben and Paul, please email the customer service team with your invoice number, and we will send you a set of generic settings to try.

Please bear in mind that we advise against updating BIOS's if everything is working fine, unless absolutely necessary.

    Thanks,

    Aaron

    Re: Flashed Bios

    Hi Aaron,

I've already done this and tried the settings that came back. I was tempted to flash the bios back to F2 but there is no F2 version to download from the Gigabyte site. If you know where I could download the original BIOS for my motherboard, could you let me know?

The reason I updated the BIOS was in the hope that 6 revisions on the from stock BIOS the USB/Windows 7 boot issue (loading into a blank screen) would have been fixed. Otherwise I wouldn't have touched it

Update: I've just rememberd that I backed up my original BIOS before flashing F8....attempting to turn-back-time now

Update 2: The backup BIOS flashed successfully and when I went into the BIOS the 3XS presets were back in the menu Happy and relieved.

    Regards,

    DC

    Re: Flashed Bios

    Hi DavidCane,

Based upon the settings that have been sent to you, I would try increasing the Load-line calibration as opposed to the vCore. You can safely go from Level 7 to 10, but please keep an eye on temperatures under load.

Also, if you are having no joy at Level 8, 9 or 10, then it is also safe to go to 1.4V if the temperature allows.

    Thanks,

    Aaron

    Re: Flashed Bios

    Hi Aaron,

Thanks for that advice. I have now remembered that I backed up the original BIOS before flashing F8. I've restored to the original BIOS and recovered the 3XS profiles that were on the board when shipped.

It is now up and running Prime95 successfully onto Test 6 with no BSOD so far.

If I try to give the F8 bios another try in the future I'll bear in mind that I can go from Level 7 to 10 but for now I'll leave it as you guys delivered it.

    Thanks again,

    DC
