    USB 3.0 PCI-E advice

    Hi,

I bought a Scan system 2 years ago (specs on left). Has been working absolutely fine but I'm looking to add a PCI-E card with USB 3.0 and a front panel hub with ports. Currently there is an akasa memory card reader already with one free expansion bay available above.
I would like Scan's advice on what's the best way to go about this?

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: USB 3.0 PCI-E advice

    Hi,

If you just need front ports LN42794 would do the trick. I'ts a front panel 3.5" bay with 2 USB 3.0 Ports connecting to a PCI-E card.

If you need front and rear USB3.0, then LN36136 and LN40708 would do the job together. Leaving you with 2 free ports at the front and 2 at the rear.

You would need to be able to route the cables from the front panel out the back of the case into the card, the case you have should have water cooling grommets that you can route the cables through.

    Regards,
    Rob

    Re: USB 3.0 PCI-E advice

Thanks for the reply. I found another product LN40617 which I would prefer as its black. Looks to be the same as the first one you've mentioned.
