    Trying to install Mobo

    H Guys,

I am trying to install a new motherboard the Asrock z78 extrme, however the system is not booting up. The lights will come on for half a second and then turn off.

I have fitted to the new Motherboard to the antex case safely. Its on a wooden desk, I was wearing rubber soles and I touched a radiator before hand, I just don't believe it was damaged because it was also well packaged by scan in a professional manner.

I don't know what to do, I dont see a red or green light at all. The h80 cooling system came already plugged into the mobo which looks fine, I dont know what to do. I am 90% sure everything is plugged in place.

    Re: Trying to install Mobo

you sure as well as the main 24pin power block you have the extra 4 or 8 pin p4 12v power connector plugged into the mobo

also if using metal spacers from the case to the motherboard double check they are in the correct place and that one is not shorting the board out.

make sure on the little connector block (where you have to connect you HDD LEDs, power/reset switch etc) are in the correct places, try with just the power switch.

remove all components and begin adding one by one and power up after each to see if one of them is causing this.

    Thanks.

I have to say I absolutely HATE the corsair tx750, there is like 50 million extensions that take up the whole case and make this so obnoxious to see where stuff is connecting. there is an 8 slot power section on the top left of the mobo - the only thing that fits in there is two of the 4 pin pice adapters from the tx750, they seem to fit ok. I have tried the power switch in every won of the places and still nothing. As soon as Iturn on the PSU power or wall power it starts for half a second then stops, if I press the switch to turn on...nothing. I have to completely restart the plug to get a reaction.

    Re: Trying to install Mobo

I actually got it fixed last night. I think there was a problem with how it was screwed into the case. I took it out, started it on a non conductive surface and it started up fine with just the power. I put it back into the case and started it with the components one by one and eventually everything was in there and no problems happened and its all fully operational.
