    High CPU temps.

    Hi.

When they did the 24hr burn in, what temps were they getting?

I just used Prime95 for about 3mins and my cores were running between 76 and 82 degrees on full load. And around 40 on idle. For me that is too high and makes me uncomfortable.

    Re: High CPU temps.

    Hi,

As Ben has said, those temperatures are fine, and to be expected if your system is overclocked and loading at 100% with Prime.

All CPU's have a safety thermal cut off point to avoid damage to components - so you have no need to worry even in the event of CPU fan failure etc.... The system will just shut down if it is getting too hot.

On the 2500/2600K CPUs this is around 98 degrees C

    Regards,
    Rob

    Re: High CPU temps.

Sorry for the late reply. Been busy with revision. It hasn't caused any problems so I'm fine with it. Thanks guys. Spoons33, it's a 4.7GHZ oc.
