    3XS Overclock Bundle - GA-Z68XP-UD4, 2700k Boot looping.

Hi - I've been using my overclock bundle quite happily for the last couple of months.

Yesterday on boot windows loaded, failed, rebooted automatically and then blue screened.

When I rebooted the machine the machine stared to boot loop on the BIOS.

The machine powers up for about 1/2 a second, starts to spin the fans up and then shuts down. It will then power up, get the fans up to speed and shut down. It then power up, display the BIOS splash screen with options for 5 seconds and shut down again.

It will then start the above three boots again.

When the BIOS splash screen is displayed I can press DEL to try to get into the BIOS but the machine still reboots.
When the BIOS splash screen is displayed I can press TAB to display the post messages - I can see the machine has done the memory count, read/set the memory clock speed but then it pauses and the machine reboots.
When the BIOS splash screen is displayed I can press ENDL to try to Qflash but the machine still reboots.

    Suggestions??

Try clearing the cmos, it may wipe your overclock settings but I am sure Scan will supply you with new ones if they have dissapeared.

The Gigabyte boot loop is a known issue, BIOS updates seem to fix it.
    Society's to blame,
    Or possibly Atari.

Thanks guys - I've got the OC settings saved in an email so it's all good.

Ok, I've put a jumper on the BIOS clear pins, left it for 10 mins, removed the jumper and rebooted and it's still the same.

I've removed the BIOS battery, left the machine for an hour, re-jumpered the BIOS clear pins, left it a further 10 mins, replaced the BIOS battery and it's still the same.

I can't flash the BIOS as I can't boot the machine - the machine fails just after the memory check and before the PCI checks/RAID checks so it never gets to where I can boot from a USB stick (etc). I can't restore the backup BIOS as it reboots before I can get to that option.

    Suggestions??

If you have more than one stick of memory, maybe try just one stick to see if you can get past boot.

Thanks JonJ - an excellent idea.

There are two stick of memory so I've swapped them over (same result) and tried each individually - the only difference in the boot was that it recognised the reduced amount of memory and then rebooted at the same time as before.
