    Very impressed, just one question

Just had my system delivered and installed by one of the guys from Netsolve.

Can I just say what a really pleasant experience it was, he left a message on my answering machine on Monday evening and I returned his call when I got home.

The call went to voicemail but within 5 minutes he rang back and apologised profusely for missing my call.

We arranged between 12 and 2 today.

He called at 1 and again apologised that he was going to be delayed by 1 and a half to 2 hours.

bang on 1 and a half hours later he called back and said he was 10 minutes away.

He arrived, carefully unpacked the system and plugged everything in and booted it to test, making sure that I got video output etc.

I've dealt with quite a few installation and maintenance engineers both personally and professionally and this has to be the most pleasant experience I've had.

You know who he is and he really gives an excellent impression of both yourselves and Netsolve.

The system itself is beautifully built, its really nice to be able to identify the components through the window, I'll definitely add some cold cathodes at some point to show it off.

    Now just the question.

I have an HDMI cable between my monitor and the system but had to add an HDMI to DVI converter on my old system.

When he was plugging it in he commented that the graphics card has a mini HDMI port instead of the full size one and said that sometimes converters were included but was not sure and suggested I contact yourselves.

    Can you advise?

    Hi pctech2012

Thanks for the feedback and it is nice to have some positive comments about Netsolve on Hexus as they do work hard for Scan covering 1000s of miles and dont often get praise as good as yours

Please email me your Build and Invoice number to systemsupport@scan.co.uk as some cards come with adaptors but some manufacturers dont supply them and I will check for you

    Regards

    Ben

    Hi Ben

just getting my e-mail back up and running but will certainly do that.

Also just checking over my disks to file them for safekeeping and there appears to be a bit of a scratch on the edge of the Windows DVD, can you look into that for me?

    Hi pctech2012

The 550Ti only comes with a Dsub to DVI adaptor there is no Mini HDMI adaptor supplied

With reference to the windows disk we will not have used this as it was installed through our server , was the packaging opened?

Just to update this has been quickly resolved, Scan have agreed to swap out the DVD for me.

Amazingly quick and helpful response on both issues.

Re: Very impressed, just one question

Just to say thanks to Ben, the replacement Windows DVD arrived safe and sound via DPD this morning along with some fan vent dust filters I ordered to protect the innards of the system.

Yep, reinstalling the drivers has done the trick, seems more stable now.

    Again, many thanks

Re: Very impressed, just one question

No-one is perfect, it can always be worse, I've read quite a bit about the Netsolve guys, not enough good I must say so it's good to read some positive, but as a comparison when Mesh sent someone out to me, the 'engineer' confessed he normally delivers and assembles furniture, I took the parts off him and fitted them myself, his relief was palpable.

Re: Very impressed, just one question

Yep last system was a Mesh and when the guy turned up to replace my motherboard I did get the impression he might have been scratching his head severely if there were issues.

I bought a cheap base unit from a high street store about 8 years ago and had a hard disk issue with it.

Guy came out to replace the disk, plugged in the new one and immediately got a SMART impending failure message, looked at me and said 'it's probably because it's got no O/S'

I corrected him and told him it meant the drive was about to die, I ended up talking to the manufacturer's engineering support line and interpreting the instructions for him as to what to do as he didn't seem to know his way round a motherboard at all.
