    Blue Screen of Death/Crashes

Hi. I purchased my 3xs system roughly 9 months ago. For the past 2 weeks I have been getting obnoxious blue screens of death that lock up the PC...sends it into an automated memory test/dump and then tells me to contact my supplier.

A hard reset is the only way I can recover functionality.

On top of this, the stabability of my games have severely recuded since the first blue screen. 10 minutes of uninterrupted gameplay on games like BF3 without crashes to desktop and ".exes have stopped working"..are extremely rare.

I clean out my tower once a month with compressed air. Inside is as clean as day 1. All my drivers are up to date. CPU temps never go about 55 degrees while gaming.

    Any help/assistance would be appreciated.

    Re: Blue Screen of Death/Crashes

    Hi kenelee

We are sorry to hear of the issues

If you are experiencing unusual crashes and lockups please email your minidump files to us to look at (these are located at C:\Windows\minidumps) to systemsupport@scan.co.uk using the Build number or your Query number as the subject line

If The Minidumps are not being created you can enable this option by doing the following

Right Click on Computer and Select Properties
    Click on Advanced System Settings
    Select the Advanced Tab
Select the Start up and Recovery Settings
Make sure that Write an Event to the System Log is Ticked and Automatically Restart is Unticked
Make Sure Overwrite Existing file is not ticked
    Apply these settings and reboot

The next blue screen will stay on the screen and you can email us the exact error message to systemsupport@scan.co.uk and we will look into this for you

We also advise that you may want to test the memory as this could be the root of the issue

Use Memtest from www.memtest.org run for 10 passes if possible to determine if faulty

    Regards

    Ben

    Re: Blue Screen of Death/Crashes

Hi Ben, thanks for your reply.

I have emailed systemsupport stating both my build and invoice number as the title. Attached you will find 6 mini dumps created for the crashes I have had from the dreaded blue screen.

    These happened on:
    02/04
    17/05 x2
    04/06
    12/06
    20/06

Hope this helps with your investigations and I hope my rig isnt seriously hurting. Thanks .

Hey, thank you for the reply.

I haven't been home for the past few days so I will get the suggested memory test completed before the weeks out and email you guys the results.

    Thanks again.
