    System Build

My PC is scheduled to be built today so fingers crossed. I'll be watching my tracking information like a school-kid waiting for hometime

Phil - please remember to post some photo's!

Just for reference guys the key parts of my system are :-
    3XS Intel X58 Core i7
    I7 920 overclocked to 3.6Ghz
Antec P182 case for compactness and quietness
    6 Gb of 1600 RAM
1GB XFX GTX 285 Black - Chosen as it's the best single card available.
1.5TB Seagate Hard drive - already have another one to back it up to
    Card Reader
    Blu-Ray player
    DVD-Writer
No OS - Going to install Win 7 beta from the start

Obviously not the out and out beasts that many of you are ordering, but should provide a very good compromise of performance (especially where SLI isn't fully utilised). noise, physical size and power consumption.

    Can't wait til Satuday.

(Also ordered several other small bits including a very tasty DVI / USB based KVM Switch that I can't wait to try out.)

looks pretty sweet. Isnt the win 7 beta time locked to expire after 180 days? Are you presuming the final release will be shipped before then?

It runs out on 1st August / September - can't remember which.

Anyway I assume that Microsoft will extend this until a time when you can buy the OS and upgrade the beta.

Worst comes to worst I have the old PC still and have 2 Vista licences.

I know the P182 is a rather sedate and sensible case choice with no fireworks and glowing lights, but still really interested to see it in build.

Thanks for the continued excellent service.

Shouldn't be using some 3rd party dodgy browser then ! No sympathy here

Good idea to resize Phil as it's downright massive at the moment. Never has a big high-res monitor been so useful - lol.

TBH I noticed the small things. Like it's a full copy of Acronis True Image 2009! That will come in really useful as I have the same software on my other PC. So backup and restore 1 pc to the other will be very easy.! Yes I could share and use the LAN too, but stop spoiling the fun.... hehe

Also I assume it's the fans with UltraQuiet written on them in big letters. Music to my ears !

Can't wait to see it all those bits in the case tomorrow.
