Scan Guys, a quick idea.

Could there be a thread or perhaps a sub-forum with individual threads (?) that details systems and performance ? Scan examples and customer systems could be posted there at request.

So for example there could be a very brief description of the system (processor, overclock memory, graphics, anything else relevant) and then the benchmark (06 / Vantage / other) results... Perhaps (especially if there is 1 thread per system) the excellent build photo's could be posted there too as a permanent record.

It would soon form an suberb reference for potential customers and existing alike as they'd be quickly able to see the effects of different graphics configs / processors / ram / etc. And perhaps even see examples of the cases via the photo's.

Just and idea - what does everyone else think.?

That sounds like a great idea!

But i feel that people may be put off or spend more than they should when they see some results...

For instance, if i'm new and i look at this thread, you would automatically want to have the best system, and you might go over budget etc

or people might think that their system isn't as good anymore...

its catch 22 really :s

i7 920 @ 4.1ghz
gtx 280 sli, overclocked

gives me nearly 27000 in vantage
cinebench in around 39 seconds (but i don't know how to do that properly)
i'll get round to updating my farcry2 and crysis benches when i get home
but from the top of my head, around 70fps avearge in crysis (DX9) and 80 something in farcry2

Great Phil... Was thinking sub forum (Test Results). Then a thread for each PC.

Need a suitable title for the threads that sum up the system very fast. Use a standard for all threads to make them easy to search.

Then in the thread include a brief system spec, the 3dmark results and the pictures. The system spec might by copy and pastable for you from your build system / order system ?

3dmark results if captured like below also have the advantage of summing up the main system spec for you.

All names (forum / threads /etc) up for debate.



I was imagining that this would be a forum for "Scan" to post in rather than general, but if people have Scan systems shipped already I'm sure you could post the details up.

That is one cool projection clock!


This clock projects the time, date, or temp on the wall or ceiling some people call
it a ceiling clock but I call it a digital projection clock. I got the black one because at the time that was the only color
they had. But now they have them in black and also in white.
