Question about Ram config on PowerDaw

I guess this question is to Pete

I am now less than a couple of weeks from ordering my new PowerDaw system!
As always, I was checking my configuration when suddenly the total shot up from approx £1436 (inc P+P) to a whopping £1558 (inc P+P) !!!!!
I thought typical... after all this time saving, and as Im just about to buy, the total rises by a cool £122 !!!!

But then I noticed that the Ram I had configured (6GB (3x2GB) Corsair XMS3 DDR3 PC3-12800 (1600), 240 Pin, Non-ECC Unbuffered) was now 12g minimum! Is there no longer an option of just having 6g or is this just a listing hitch???#
    Cheers in advance,
    Michael.

Re: Question about Ram config on PowerDaw

    Cheers Pete!

Can I ask a couple of more last pre order questions please?

God, I can't believe Im saying that! All these months of saving hard and finally nearly there! Just got to sell my Roland XP 50 on ebay (which many are interested in) and Im finally there!!!

Sorry, Im babbling on... anyway... the questions!!!

    1) I'm thinking about adding another 3G of ram to bring it to 9G. Is this a Scan option? If so, would it have an effect on the system ie slow it down? I would'nt have thought so but I thought Id better ask? If at all possible do I have to order and then call to add the extra 3G?

    2) I want to add Window 7 64bit as the OS. I see it says 32/64 bit. I take it both versions are on the same disk? Would you guys install the 64 bit version as I have no interest in the 32bit.

    3) What is the averege build time/delivery Pete? The only reason Im asking is that Ive got a week off work on the 16th of November, so for it to arrive on that week would be ace!!!

    Thanks again Pete in advance.
    Michael.

Re: Question about Ram config on PowerDaw

    Hi Michael,

Although my keyboard rack is a little more bare than it use to be (flogged a Triton a few months back!) I'll pass on restocking it and wish you good luck on off loading it

    1) You could have both a 6G set and 3G set if you wanted 9G total. It's not a configuration option as we can't do two types of mixed memory in the configurator section. You can specify this through if you call up and speak to one of the sales guys instead of ordering online. If you get stuck with the configuration with whoever you speak to then you can always get them to have a chat with me to clear up anything you need.

    2) As we're doing the retail packs with systems at the moment they do indeed come with both versions. When you've placed an order it then goes to Phil P to book in. Whilst he is doing so he'll send you a email asking you to supply any configuration details that you require applying to the system before it ships. Just make a note on an email response and we'll get 64bit installed for you

    3) Phil tells me we're looking at about 10 working days at the moment which means if you order this week it should get to you around the 16th. Let me know the invoice number when you've ordered it and i'll keep an eye on the build for you and make sure the's no delays where it can be helped

    Pete.

Re: Question about Ram config on PowerDaw

Hi Pete and thanks for the quick reply!
Ok, not to worried about the ram, on second thoughts... I think 6 gig is more than enough! Im just glad to get the system!
Im hoping to get the money all together by the middle of next week if not before. So as soon as I get the Roland XP sold, Ill be in there!!!
Cool about the OS, I will reply to Phil once I get the email.
And thanks Pete for keeping an eye out for me!
You've been such a star and I am deeply greatfull for all your help.
    Regards,
    Michael.

ps Don't change any more configurations in the next week or two or there'll be trouble!
