    Question LiteDAW config questions

Just looking through the new LiteDAW configurator and came up with a few questions.

    1) Motherboard PS/2 port
The motherboard has a single PS/2 port. Can that be used only for keyboard OR mouse (and the other goes into a USB port) OR is there some adapter to allow both to be connected?

    2) USB ports
There are 10 on the back panel and two on the case front panel (on the Fractal Design case, at least). Are all 12 connected during the build?

    3) FW ports
There are two on the back panel. it looks like only one is powered. Is that correct?

    4) Acoustic treatment
The configurator does not have a section for selecting any sound-proofing. Is this not needed?

    5) DVD
Is it possible to configure 2 during the build?

    6) Dual-booting
XP Home SP3 is listed as £58 and Windows 7 Home Premium is £80.
Is it possible to order both fully installed? If so, what is the additional cost (if any ) for installing the second OS?

    Interesting, if true.

    Re: LiteDAW config questions

    Hello,

    Answers in order:

    1. It will work for either but you can't connect both. Most mice if not all are usb now which is why the firms are making the move over like this.

    2. The back panel if listed will be built onto the board and so will be fitted. The front ones are always fitted if the are spare headers on the board fitted. In the case of those boards I think the are 2 seperate headers allowing upto 4 front of case usb sockets to be connected up.

    3. Looking at what's on the board it does indeed look like one is powered and one is not.

    4. It's not needed on the Sileo or the Fractal design models as both ship to us fully sound proofed.

    5. It should be an option on the configurator but having just checked it, it's not. I'll change that when i'm back in the office on Friday, but I don't currently have access to that part of our system at the moment.

    6. We can install both if you wish to dual boot. Normally the build team charge £50 to configure a system like this due to the system requiring testing and configuration twice.

    Pete.

Optical drives now updated on the spec's. Let me know if you spot anything else like that but should be right now
