    i7 980x

You advertise the i7 980x with air cooling, Corsair cooling and full water cooling at 4.2 Ghz. I was looking at the Asus P6X58D sata III motherboard with the 256 Gb Corsair RealSSD and 6Gb 1866Mhz Ram. Is the overclock fixed or can you go higher depending on components?

    Thanks

    srcraig,

The CPU's are due to land with us on the 9th April - as they're fresh to the market we've not tested every single configuration (yet!) and we'd have to take a "See how far it can safely go!" stance on the situation. If higher frequencies are possible, within temperature limits then by all means we'll certainly aim as high as we can go within reason.

    All the best

4.2Ghz is going to be the limit really with the high end air cooling and Corsair H50, under a custom watercooling loop were looking around 4.4 to 4.6Ghz

We have a system in the pipeline to show off all this awesome tech, keep your eyes peeled!!
