Unhappy Delivery date. Has this slippped? No email to say.

Hi, can you confirm that this timescale hasnt slipped?

On the website tracker it's saying that the PC is still at the memory test so I fail to see how it can be given all the other processes (24 hr burn in??) and still be ready for dispatch tomorrow.

    Mr John C******e,

I am writing in regards to your 3XS system,

Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances we are having to delay the build and dispatch of your system by 3 working days.

I hope this doesn't cause too much inconvenience, please understand we need to maintain the 3XS standard which is why this delay although disappointing is necessary.

    Revised dates;
    Build - 30th September
    Dispatch - 5th October

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

    Best Regards

Re: Delivery date. Has this slippped? No email to say.

Oh dear oh dear, Tiny PC's anyone?

I thought that the days of support being put through to empty rooms, ringing out for ever, broken promises and piss poor help being the de facto were over. Obviously not......

OK, so I've phoned twice today, the first call I was told that 'Philip' would phone me back straight away. And yes of course, there was no chance of this happening.................

When he didn’t, I next phoned Adam in, <cough> 'customer services', who then 'PROMISED ME' that he would 'pop right through' and 'see what was happening' and then phone me 'RIGHT BACK', oh aye, for sure!! When do you finish I asked, 5.30? And you'll phone me back? Of course I will. SCANs care box was seemingly empty.................

This is my second delay btw, and TBO, I'm going to contact my CC company and cancel this delayed order if I dont have a delivery by Thursday.

You've broken your contract, you're now wasting MY time, your feedback is pretty poor, and tbo it's looking like you're not worth my 2K+ cash. I could have had a build done by many others within a few days, some next day, or by myself within an afternoon.

The sad thing is, I'm sure it's not the guys on the build, it's the bean counters and chinless management as usual that are fe**in things up.

Come on folks GET A GRIP!!

    Delivery by Thursday, PLEASE!!!

    John

    Hello John,

I am sorry for any disappointment caused, I was unable to give you a call yesterday!

Is there another number that I can contact you on to discuss your 3XS system!

Unhappy Re: Delivery date. Has this slippped? No email to say.

I received the exact same email with a promised date of 5th of October.
My system is sat at the 'software' stage even though I was promised that it wouldn't be put back again.
It obviously isn't going to be 'Despatched 5/10/10' as the email says.

Philip was very helpful in his last phonecall to me and he no doubt has lots of customers chasing delivery but I think Scan need to employ more staff because it's seems timescales aren't being adhered to.
It's o.k. telling people that their systems have been delayed but to then miss the delay date simply isn't good enough.

At the moment (even with the friendly phone-call I received around 10 days ago), I wouldn't recommend ordering from Scan in the future to my friends and clan mates.

P.S. My order number is 1742402

Hope you get sorted anyway John
Call of Duty Black Ops comes out on Nov 9th.. maybe we'll get a delivery before then.. haha

    Posted on 'Timescales' thread:

Well I ordered a 3XS system on Friday 23rd September, I also used V12 Finance which was approved and Scan were advised by V12 on 27th that they could proceed. I factored in 3 weeks for the build allowing for any mishaps.

Well as of today and after numerous emails I'm still waiting for a build number and some idea of a delivery date, Scan have my deposit of over £400.00.

To say the delivery is urgent would be an understatement as my whole career choice is hinging on getting my work done on my new system. I know that may sound a bit dramatic but the fact the non delivery of my system will no be accepted as an excuse by the admission department of my University.

Reading all the other posts is worrying me beyond measure now.

To add to this and reading the posts I have 6 future classmates waiting for my report on my system for the course, they all have funds for Quadro workstations. Maybe Dell or Escape studios will be an option for them!!!!!!!

    Hi Lisa,

I’m doing my best as confirmed on Saturday to find you the earliest slot available, I really do understand that your system is urgent and will come back to you today!

    Hi Philip,

....... and I do appreciate your assistance but sat here twiddling my thumbs with no invoice, build number and reading the other posts I'm sure you can appreciate my worries.

    Thanks for your reply.

Re: Delivery date. Has this slippped? No email to say.

It seems it's a regular problem. Although my system isn't as urgent as yours. I do have coursework to get in for a Microsoft course I'm on, fortunately I have been able to use my friends laptop but this is only a temporary measure.

I bet people like me who ordered on the 8th of September will get delayed for more 'Urgent orders that are being chased'.
Apparently mine was delayed due to a corporate build.. the thing is, how long is it acceptable to wait and get pushed back for someone else..?

If only I could use my current computer! I'm doing a animation showreel piece that I simply cannot do without the new system in Autodesk Maya 2011. It's storyboarded and just waiting to be modelled and animated.

I'm going to give Philip every chance to sort it out as he has promised and hope they are true to their word.

Re: Delivery date. Has this slippped? No email to say.

    Guys,

It is with great regret that you have had to encounter an unforeseeable delay of your systems. We really do try our best to keep our customers happy and keep delays to a minimum.

System sales have gone really well over the last couple of months, however due to the amount of extra systems ordered we’ve needed to employ a further 6 staff to help maintain a steady workflow. Even though we have employed new 3XS Systems Engineers it takes a little while to train them to our usual 3XS Standards.

As I’m sure you’re aware 3XS Systems go through some of the most rigorous testing available. We could quite easily bypass this testing procedure to get systems out to our customers on the expected despatch date but we would much rather make sure the systems are thoroughly tested to help make sure our customers are happy with their 3XS Systems.

Our guys are putting in extra hours to help clear the backlog. We are doing are very upmost to get back on track.

    Kind Regards,

    Pete

Re: Delivery date. Has this slippped? No email to say.

Thanks for the reply Philip but there has been no correspondence to keep people informed of the developments with their systems.
I have had to book 2 holidays at work and cancel due to missed despatch dates.

I don't like feeling like it's my fault for wanting a system delivered on the day I was told.
You seem to be fighting too many fires and trying to help people which is credit to you.

Fair enough the original despatch date has been missed but it's the fact the delayed date hasn't been met and further still we've not been told of a new date.

I'm clocking up a complete month soon

Having bought two 3XS systems before, i will jump in and say that once you get your system delivered, you'll understand why it takes a while.

The quality and dedication put into each machine is incredible, and if you're a PC enthusiast, you'll appreciate all the time and effort that went into making your system.

It's worth the wait, trust me.

And quite frankly it's good to see how busy they are, it's a testament to the quality of work they produce, though i can understand the frustrations you guys are having.

    Hello MrWilks,

I completely understand and agree with your frustrations, we are working as hard as possible to clear the back log and will be back to our normal turnaround of 7-10 working days very shortly. I have just sent you an email via our internal system please reply back and I will ensure the system is delivered on that date.

Thank you for your patience and understanding, my direct email is philipp@scan.co.uk don’t hesitate to get in touch if needed.

Mine has already been pushed back a few days.

    E1498763

Supposed to be dispatching tomorrow now but according to the site it hasn't even started build yet...

Is it safe to say I shouldn't waste time booking time off work for the end of the week...?
