Edge - Intel Core i7 2600K bundle. Couple of Q's for Scan

Was wondering why my system came clocked to 100MHz x 46, when it is advertised as 4.7GHz overclocked bundle??

Also, is your bubble wrap, a special, static-sensitive version? Just wondered as the mobo came shipped with CPU, cooler and RAM installed, simply wrapped directly in bubble wrap, within a cardboard box - no static sensitive material around any of the electronics at all.

Finally, when I power on the PC, the fans start up and the system appears to crank into life, then prior to POST it shuts down again, then powers itself up a second time before POSTing and booting to Windows etc. Wondered what this de-ja-vu startup was all about - any ideas??

    thanks, Paul A

Do you have an Asus P8Z68-V Pro motherboard? Mine does that everytime, and my Abit IP-35 that I had before it did it as well..

    Hi,

The pink couloured bubble wrap is indeed anti-static.

As Hoonigan said, most new boards do a "double-boot" where they will power on briefly and then appear to reset, in particular the Asus boards.

If you could send a query to our technical support team, they will be able to check your order and overclock settings for you: https://secure.scan.co.uk/aspnet/sup...px?QueryType=T

    Regards,

    Rob

as mentioned - it's probably overclocked and the system can't take it. mine did that as well when i was playing with the bios' auto OC function. i have an asus z68 board as well.
just default it back to normal setting and you should be ok.
