Anyhoo - looking at http://3xs.scan.co.uk/ShowSystem.asp?SystemID=1331 as the core of my next PC, which will be used pretty heavily as a VMWare workstation, but also for some gaming. As it's going to be used for virtualisation I'd like to max the RAM out, but the most you offer through the site is 16Gb. Is there the possibility to buy with 32Gb of RAM? And if so... would I be able to buy it on credit if needs be?

if the amount of RAM is likely to pose a problem with the overclock (which I suspect is the case) I can live with stock speeds, but I need more than 16Gb really.

No response as yet (not a problem, I won't be in a position to make a purchase until Friday anyways), but looking at the QVL list off the Asus website they don't actual certify *any* RAM for 32Gib on this board. Is it possible for you guys to do some testing to confirm?

Some good and not so good news.... the board is happy to accept 32GB of memory, we used 2x the below;

We are happy to retest with the memory you have mentioned once it comes into stock.

We tested the bundle clocked at 4.6Ghz last night and unfortunately it dropped some cores in prime... we have lowered the OC to 4.5Ghz and currently retesting.

This is good stuff - I'm not overly fussed about which memory, nor the overclock to be honest: so long as it's stable.

Not sure if you want to carry this on from here, or if you'd prefer to take it to email? If the latter could you know me an official quote up for the bundle (is it possible to use the newer Thunderbolt variant of the board btw?) with 32Gb of that RAM, an 8150 and the H80 cooler?

I don't think we have the Thunderbolt variant of the ASUS Motherboard, I'm fairly sure this would be released under a new SKU, but let me check and I will e-mail you along with the quotation shortly.

The Thunderbolt version is listed as LN41251, with the standard version as LN39764. Both are the same price.

Hopefully both boards are pretty much the same, just the extra card in the newer unit.
