I built up a new system over the weekend. I finally got the parts on Friday, following a slight misunderstanding regarding delivery.
I chose a mobo/CPU/RAM bundle from scans 3SX "bundles" range, and I must say I'm very pleased with this whole concept. In the past, I've found the the riskiest part of system building has been whether or not these components would work together properly. So the fact that scan's teccy's have picked out and soak tested the core components, does as I see it, mitigate most of the risk. Especially if, like me, you only build one now and then.
Best of all, by opting for the hardware bundle, I've still been able to spec up the rest of the system exactly as I wanted it, for the job in hand.
The overall spec is quite modest, but by opting for the hardware bundle I've been able to spec it up to suit my needs, whilst still making a great saving over buying a pre-built system of comparable spec.
