    3XS Bundle now blue screens.

    Hi,

I've had an Edge i7 bundle for just under a year and it has recently started blue screening. It first did it a month or so back (while playing skyrim), but know is doing it quite often (just surfing). Most of the time the machine resets before I can write down the STOP codes. It just did it and froze long enough for me to write them down.

    STOP: 0x00000124 (0x0000000000000000, 0xFFFFFA8008682028, 0x00000000BE200000, 0x000000000005110A).

I've been very happy with the bundle up until now. So it would be nice to get this fixed. Are there some bios tweaks I could try to make it a little more stable ?

I can't call when I'm at work, so please either reply here or PM me.

My account and Invoice numbers were [removed] and [removed], from 03/04/2011.

I'm also wondering if this is a cooling issue. I wonder if placing the case on its side would help ? That would mean the weight of the heat sink was down onto the chip, rather than pulling it off. I guess it's clipped on there pretty tight so probably not.

I've removed the account/invoice numbers from view (better they aren't on public display), but the Scan guys will still be able to see them.

I just had another one, so you can see they are quite frequent now. This time the codes were slightly different ...

    STOP: 0x00000124 (0x0000000000000000, 0xFFFFFA80086F1028, 0x00000000BE200000, 0x000000000005110A).

Perhaps I should invest in a new case with some bigger fans

AFAIK stop x124 is instability caused by too low a QPI/VTT voltage, which is I think voltage to the integrated memory controller on the CPU. SCAN will be able to advise I'm sure, but outside of that you could either lower the clocks or increase the voltage a little.
