    Help with First 3xs system

Hi I'm thinking of getting the G30 with i7, win7 pro and a different graphics card, some questions remain though

1 how much longer to deliver
2 do you get a windows disc or is it just a recovery partition
3 I am not a gamer so would the on chip graphics be good enough for online videos and for image editing or would it be best to go for a card such as the 550ti
4 considering I'm not into gaming is it worth adding a ssd
    5 is 16gb Ram overkill!!

    Thanks

    Pete

Re: Help with First 3xs system

    In regards to your questions, please find the answers below ;

    1) how much longer to deliver

In general the value systems can take around 3 days on average to be ready. Sometimes its quicker, but I quote 3 just to be conservative

    2) do you get a windows disc or is it just a recovery partition.

You will get the windows installation media as standard so that you can re-install windows if and when needed

3)I am not a gamer so would the on chip graphics be good enough for online videos and for image editing or would it be best to go for a card such as the 550ti

The integrated graphics is ideal for things like basic web surfing, media playback including blu-ray and general PC usage. However, if you do even remotely think your going to start playing games, or in the future use applications like the new adobe which can use openGL and openCL then having a card such as the 550 ti you listed would offer better performance. As such, you've got to look at your usage and guess what your going to be doing in the near future with the system to answer this one.

4 considering I'm not into gaming is it worth adding a ssd

I would say yes really but that's only because people say I am biased now I have 2 SSD drives with a 3rd needing to be installed soon once I've bought it that is. The SSD speeds all aspects of windows usage up and will also give better performance to any applications you also install on the SSD with the operating system so if you use any applications that do a lot of reading/writing to the drive then the SSD would be ideal.

    4) is 16gb Ram overkill!!
Not really, it depends on usage and things like that. People used to say 640 kb would be all the RAM we would need, but now its not uncommon to find 16 GB or 32 GB installed due to the low memory prices. Please note, if you opted for 16 GB and wanted to add more RAM in the future, you will need to use windows 7 PRO or ULTIMATE as windows Home Premium has a 16 GB limit.

    I hope this information helps

    Best Regards,
