    Scan Value System G35 Query

I build my own PCs (last one a 3770k with bits from Scan ), and have offered to build one for my dad, but he wants to go for a pre-built

he was impressed with the PC Pro review of the Scan Value System G35 - but I have a query please

the review is the top one in the 3XS reviews list (PC Pro - July 2012 - can't give link as not enough posts)

its odd though that the System linked to on the Scan website, makes no mention of it being pre-overclocked as per the review (and/or even including the large 3rd party cooler)

can you confirm these are indeed overclocked to 4.6 and come with the Thermalright HR-02 cooler please as per the PC Pro review ?

all the other overclocked systems state that they are overclocked, this one makes no mention of it

    thanks

Re: Scan Value System G35 Query

    Hi Buckster,

Just had a quick look on the Scan website and I assume you're talking about this machine:

    http://3xs.scan.co.uk/ShowSystem.asp?SystemID=1452

The system overview confirms: "Specially designed for gamers, the G35 OC features a quad-core Intel Core i5 3570K CPU which our engineers have overclocked from 3.4GHz to 4.6GHz and a 2GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 670 graphics card."

Also when you go to configure at the top the base components also state: Scan value Range G35 OC System. In this case the OC standing for overclocked.

However it would appear from the website that they are now using a different HSF and SSD than those mentioned in the review. There may be other things too but I noticed both of those.

I would also suggest filling out the form on this page for an accurate quote and confirmation as to what will be included in the system.

    https://secure.scan.co.uk/aspnet/sup...px?QueryType=S

(A nod to Cactusjack for the above )

TLDR; I'm sure it is overclocked but it looks as though a few of the components have been changed.

    Hope this helps

Re: Scan Value System G35 Query

    Glad to help

It did get a good score in the review and it still seems like a really good system to me even with the couple of changes.

Not being great with electronics at all I have used the Scan 3XS team for my last 2 PC builds and have been delighted with the results. Very clean builds and excellent advice along the way. I'm sure your dad will be very happy with this system.

indeed - I agree it looks a good system, and insides (although there will be slight changes) shown in the review look very nice, cabling is nice and tidy etc
