I ordered my shiny new PC in what I thought was plenty of time to arrive before christmas (20th November). I had the automated 10-day email reply, with another arriving soon after stating a build date of 10th December. I have to be honest, I was a little annoyed that scan give no idea to the long lead time on these systems, there's simply nothing to say that it could be a month from the order date before you receive what was ordered. Anyway, the 10th has been and gone and the build still hasn't started, I've had no contact at all from scan to say they are delayed or don't have the required parts so I'm totally in the dark. I sent an email to Philipp on Monday asking if he could confirm it was either on schedule or delayed and I am yet to garner a reply.
I appreciate you guys are busy, but from what I've read on these forums this kind of situation is a regular thing. Could I suggest a little more transparency and honesty? Tell your customer(s) it's going to take time before they order; "This is a highly specialised gaming system and as such will require at least three weeks to build!". Be more pro-active, let the customer know of any delays, don't give promises you can't possibly keep. You'll get two things in return; they'll not get pissed when you don't deliver and you will gain respect for being honest. This is simple business practice in my opinion. Now that my rant is over, any chance I could get some info on my build? I can give order number/build ref. if required.
Many thanks,
Carl.
