Scan laptops, how long do they take?

Hey,

Does anyone know how long Scan usually takes to get stock?

I've tried to order one of their LG20 laptops and the date at which they still have stock seems to keep getting pushed back.

I called them on the December 17th to ask about stock and they said there was some chance they could make Christmas (was impressed they thought they could make Christmas), and ordered on that day, then called back at the end of that week to ask if I could make a change (wanted to change a hard disk) and was told that they didn't have the chassis for the LG20 at the moment anyway and was expecting stock the week after.

I called them up again on the 28th and was told someone would get back to me. On the 29th, I got an email telling me that they were now expecting stock sometime next week. This Monday I got another email telling me that they had taken payment for the hard disk change, and I got in touch today to ask about whether they got the chassis in, only to be told that they will pass a question to the systems team and that somebody would call me back, I also asked on Twitter, where Scan said they didn't have the LG20 in stock.

Looking at a few of the other threads, there seems to be people suggesting 5 weeks for the Scan PCs... have people who have ordered the laptops also had that kind of timeframe?

Sorry you've had trouble getting hold of one of LG20 laptops, we had hoped that the stock would arrive before Christmas but it got held up. However, we do now have stock, so depending on your config we can get one built up for you shortly.

The 5 weeks waiting period some people have suffered from is for desktops only as these are 100% custom built in the UK. Our laptops typically ship out MUCH quicker than that as they are part built in the Far East and finished off in the UK.
