3XS System - hard drive short DST fail

    Hi Scan

I emailed you guys via the support email address yesterday, it was concerning a short DST fail on my 2TB Seagate Barracuda hard drive that came with my 3XS system. The short DST fail is an indication of bad sectors within the hard drive and thus the hard drive needs replacing. This morning I received a RMA email from yourselves asking me to pack the drive up and arrange a convenient time for collection. Unfortunately I have Cerebral Palsy and I cannot remove or install computer components, is there any way that my disability can be taken into account and that an engineer can come out?

I have already emailed Sanjay with my concerns as I am also deaf and I struggle on the telephone but I just thought I’d post the above here in case he isn’t in.

    Thanks

    Tyrone

    HiTyzer

    Sorry about that

Sanjay has contacted you and we will sort an onsite visit, its sometimes quicker to get a drive collected and replaced as an onsite can take a few days to arrange an engineer

    Regards

    Ben

Thanks Ben, what happens in regards to installing Windows? I'm using the Scan Overclock power settings within Windows, is it something the engineer can sort or advise me on?

    HiTyzer

As the drive is your OS drive the engineer will try and clone it and if not he will do a clean install
If he does a clean install we can email you a list of any other tweaks that need to be setup

    Regards

    Ben

Re: 3XS System - hard drive short DST fail

    Hi Ben

I can confirm that I am now back up and running, thank you very much Scan and Netsolve.

I do have a question which the engineer advised me to ask, is there a reason as to why the Corsair logo on my H100i cooler doesn't light up?

The engineer had a look and he seems to think that something wasn't plugged in during the build, if so is there a reason for that?
