    3XS Overclocked system running hotter?

I got a Scan 3XS preoverclocked system early last year. Its a Fx6300 with a 7870 and its worked flawlessly for a year but Ive noticed recently its getting alot louder, the fans are coming on sooner and staying on even at idle. Nothing else has has changed eg enviromental temperature. Ive altered nothing with the PC.

Ive checked for dust and there doesnt seem to be much. Ive run the case with the side open and that seems to help even though ive read it shouldnt. Ive noticed the side of the case is completed unventilated, something i didnt even question before, but it seems weird for a OC'd PC now I think about it?

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

Ive also noticed that the GPU Core is at 98% constantly, even just after startup. Is this wrong or part of the overclock?

Re: 3XS Overclocked system running hotter?

    Hi

The fact that the GPU is ruuning at 98% would suggest the system has malware or maybe someone is using it for mining, if you disconnect the network cable and reboot is it the same?

    Regards

    Ben

Definitely sounds like GPU mining malware - especially if its at 98% load all the time. Check your processes for CONHOST.EXE and I bet this is the culprit.

Time to get using malwarebytes, Cccleaner and the usual stuff to get this removed and I would recommend using Kaspersky as a AV/firewall solution to stop things like this from happening again.

Did you pirate watch dogs? One of the cracks included a mining tool that runs without permission - this could be the reason for high temperature and constant load as mentioned above. If you could list below recent things installed (even if pirated - no one is going to judge).

Re: 3XS Overclocked system running hotter?

Thank you for your help, it was indeed a mining hack.

I have a new problem immediately though. When playing games or reasonably intensive audio process the computer is just konking out- switching off without warning.

I can only revive it by switching the psu flipswitch off then on again. I also notice the psu fan is not spinning either. The computer is not getting particular hot at this point

The psu is a corsair gs600. Thanks
