    Dell 24" 2407

    Hi Guys,

I have ordered a dell 24" monitor and would like to now what Revision i will be getting, i know that the A00, A01 and A02 have very bad banding issues, and the A03 and A04 seem to be fine.

would it be possable to check which Revision i will be getting?

    Thanks.

Unfortunately we cannot confirm revision versions prior to shipment as we receive different stock from various suppliers.

    Sorry

My friend has an A03 and I have A02.

The A03 is absolutely perfect. My A02 has no problems except for mild banding - when I go looking for it. It in no way detracts from my normal movie viewing (my main use for this monitor).

I have an A03. No banding at all. And I did initially notice the usual shortcomings of an LCD moving from CRT, so I'm not blind.

just make sure you demand a new monitor from dell, otherwise any phone calls to get a replacement sent out will end up with you owning a refurb !

otherwise just make sure you check it over for faults, google an app called gradlin and try it in desktop mode, the other 2 modes tend to show banding regardless of revision. also make sure there is no light bleed on a black screen and also check for dead stuck pixels, DPT.exe (dead pixel tester) will help check for light bleed and dead/stuck pixels.

if your not happy, ring dell and ask for a new one as they have a satisfaction policy, it is your right. i got a good one in the end

    Hi guys,

I was just wondering how you are getting on with your dell 24" monitors? I am considering getting one this month on credit but I am not convinced its very good for gaming, web development etc yet?

Could you maybe post some pics or links to pics?

    Thanks,

    Mark

Sorry to drag this back up, but the price of this Dell in the Today Only section is very good and I'm about seriously thinking about buying it. Can you guys tell me if they are all Rev A04 now?
