    Ln18970 - Scan GeForce 8800GTX

Who is it that makes the Scan Geforce 8800GTX (LN18970)?

I am looking to get one next month and wondered is it worth paying the extra £50+ to get a named card?

    Thanks,

    Mark

i didn't even know that existed.. very cheap scan

they're all based on the reference design so they're all essentially the same.

The warranty is probably quite limited but I wouldn't worry about the quality of the card really.

It is a good price, but the clock speeds etc seem to be slower etc. Also with it being OEM, there won't be a retail box etc?

Does anyone have one of these and could comment on the performance vs a named card (XFX, BFG etc)?

I have noticed the Scan spec says it has Dual-Link DVI-I whereas the other like the XFX (LN16577) says 2 x Dual Link DVI.

Is this just the same - and are they both just the same card but the SCan one is not XFX and is the OEM version?

It looks like I may buy the Scan one at the end of this month, then another one the next month.... Scan - you guys are great!

These cards are exactly the same as any other reference 8800GTX cards, they are an over production of cards in which Scan can sell as their own. They come with a 1 year warranty so there is no need to worry about quality and after sales requirements. Not only that if you are part of Scan to Hexus free delivery what a price. Spread the word if you want any more info or would like to speak over the phone don't hesitate to contact me.

Edit : sorry guys 1 year warranty my mistake due to it being OEM but for that price still you can not complain.

Paulm just updated his post if you haven't noticed - the Scan Geforce 8800GTX is only 1 year due to it being OEM and not 2 year as previously stated.

    Still worth it

What is the warranty on the XFX Geforce 8800GTX (LN16577)?

Other places are saying XFX offer a lifetime or similar warranty?

    Thanks

    ok cheers.

Hmm, well I might go for the xfx now instead of the Scan OEM version of the 8800GTX. Its only a £40 more and its the retail version.

However, I have been reading about the Geforce 8900 and don't know if I should wait a month or two to see if anything comes of them? I don't know if it is just rumours or not?

    Hi,

How many of the Scan 8800GTX do you have in stock (LN18970). Just that every other 8800 is running out of stock and wondered if these are too. As I won't be ordering till the end of the week.

Also anyword on the XFX Geforce 8800GTX stock especially the one at £360?

    Thanks,

    Mark
