@Robbie G:
Sorry mate but I wasn't getting upset. I'm just suprised you said such a thing considering the OP is having probs with his new PC and most of us are trying to help.
It just seemed a very unnesessary thing to say especially considering (a) we all know that already and (b) the poor OP is having unfortunate problems with his new PC and must be feeling somewhat frustrated at the moment.
If you still don't understand what I mean. Ask yourself this, what did spending those 2 minutes typing that actually achieve apart from potentially hurting the guys feelings? Nobody laughed...
Fortunately, the guy seems to have taken it on the chin and moved on. All i'm saying is comments like that can be funny in certain situations and hurtful in others, personally, I would've stayed on the side of caution and not said something like that considering the problems. Had we been discussing buying a PC for that price, then yeah, it might have been quite amusing.
@parad0x:
As always, more than welcome...
Hmmm. interesting developments indeed. I've had that "loop" error before. But kinda "swotting up" for interviews on monday so mind is elsewhere atm... Oh and fighting off the impending depression from a whole week of trying to get a response from ASUS and still nothing and can't play any games... God I need my gaming relaxation... This is awful... I'm totally shocked ASUS hope to respond within 24hrs but definitely promise a response within 48hrs but what they actually mean is someone non-technical will respond within that time so that they can then ignore you.
Anyway, I'll have a think and post what i remember. I can't remember whether it was with that Alienware PC ad the dodgy GX card or my current PC and a "Vista" issue...
Ooh, you know when it might have happened... when I overclocked my GX card a little too far and tested it out ingame (before I found the joys of ATITool and the 3D artifact tool for finding max core and mem settings)... But yeah, as i said, other stuff on my mind atm and I'll add to this thread early next week.
RE: Multimeter... They look nice on the wall in your garage but I've got no idea how to use one so I'll stick with the nice "Fisherprice Toys" gadgets like that Thermaltake PSU tester I think if you put me, a live PSU and a Multimeter in the same room together, there would "literally" be sparks and probably a few flames (not the forum type either).
