confused about the RMA, and the 3 emails recieved

id rather get a reply on here rather than email them and confuse? then any more so not sure whats going on lol!

i just recieved three emails, the first saying: (from Scan returns)
This email is to confirm that RMA 166712 has been issued for the following items:
Akasa SATA2 45CM BluUV HDD Cbl - 319761413 this wasnt the item that was faulty in my order

the rest saying it will be rejected if it isnt sent in adequate packaging e.t.c

the next from Queries@Scan saying:Please reply to this email us stating the following information necessary to arrange a collection through our couriers: -
Address (inc. house number or company name)-
    Date (any week day)-
Time (during this busy period ALL collections will be between 9am & 5pm)-
Contact phone number- Please note we require 24 hours notice-
Please await for confirmation the collection has been booked before making arrangements

and then one more after that (after no reply or comms)
Jack, Now a RMA number has been raised it is important that your item(s) is sent to the correct address.
At the moment your replacement is going to be shipped to:
    My address here
If you would like to change this please reply to this e-mail ASAP.

bit confused.... firstly its the wrong item, then i dont kno whats going on... i didnt reply anything to the second email so how can a collection of the 'faulty?' item be made?

and im not sure if they have already arranged the courier to collect it already which would be a problem as the cable is fine lol....

Re: confused about the RMA, and the 3 emails recieved

    Hi

In your original e-mail to us you stated the following:

    ''
hi the external caddy i recieved was a bit scratched on both the front and rear of the caddy and looked a bit as if it has been used already, and thought id just try ot get it working anyway, but cannot get it to work, no power or harddrive accessing/heat and no light at the front indicating actual power being recieved to the unit.''

Therefore an RMA was issued for the item. The person who issued the RMA put down the wrong Akasa item from the invoice this has now been changed to to: Akasa AKENP2SATABKUK SATA QUAD which i'm assuming must be correct? apologies for the confusion there he just picked the wrong Akasa item from the invoice...Doh!

    The e-mails sent are basically:

    1. confirmation the RMA has been issued

    2. An collection e-mail which requires a reply from you with the date, time, address you would like us to make a collection for the suspected faulty item

    3. A confirmation of the address you would like us to send the replacement goods to should they be tested and confirmed faulty.

    Hope this clears things up.

    Regards

Hm, looking at this, just wondering how it's chosen whether an RMA is to be collected, or asked to be posted in?

Re: confused about the RMA, and the 3 emails recieved

well mark, i had another try to get it working, and it seems to work now i think the other harddrive it didnt like or something but it works with the harddrive i tried today

but i was still wondering if it wouldnt be too much trouble to get a new non scuffled one? i mean the marks are not THAT big but it does kinda beat the point of buying it new when the back connector looks a bit 2nd hand :/ and it would be harder to sell if i ever did..

hopefully it wouldnt be too much grief...
