    MSI P35 PLATINUM, iP35, S 775 revision?

Can someone confirm the REVISION number of this item:
    MSI P35 PLATINUM, iP35, S 775, PCI-E (x16), DDR2 1066/667/800, SATA II, SATA RAID, ATX
    linky: http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=636478
    Scan code: LN19396
    Manufacturer code: P35 PLATINUM

Is it the 1.0 or 1.1 revision board?

The reason i ask is an article on toms hardware mentioned:
"The former MSI P35 Platinum Revision 1.0 won the performance portion of our earlier P35 DDR2 shootout, but by too small an amount to offset its staggering defeat in overclocking. Today's P35 Platinum Revision 1.1 maintains all of the original board's performance but with huge gains in overclocking stability that beat every board covered in our previous review. MSI could have easily won an Editor's Choice award had the firm presented such a beast for the original competition, but because all of its competitors have also continued their development work, it's unfortunately too late for such accolades. The loss of 8+2 channel audio capability with the substitution of a standard eight-channel codec comes at the same time as a rebate in lieu of reduced retail prices. Buyers who would rather save money than pay for those extra audio capabilities will be pleased to see that the MSI P35 Platinum Revision 1.1 is now a stellar overclocker."

As you can see it does make a difference knowing which revision it is being sold.

    Thanks muchly

I think the best indicator is the audio codec used/: if it is the Chip integrated by Realtek® ALC888T codec then this is the revision 1.o board. PLZ can someone confirm.

    Re: MSI P35 PLATINUM, iP35, S 775 revision?

& what happens if the 1 that they check is 1.1 but the one that gets shipped when/if ordered isn't?
It's unrealistic for them to check through several boxes to find 1 & then all the people who receive those boxes might think that theirs was s/h ...

as discussed before in other threads we use different suppliers so we can not gaurantee what revision will ship. We have large warehouses and many different products line so it is not actually easy to send someone to check revisions.

    Re: MSI P35 PLATINUM, iP35, S 775 revision?

The reason why we cannot do this is we will need to physically check each board as the revision is printed on the board itself rather than the box.

We also have mixed stock so this is the reason as Paul has explained we cannot check in this case.

    Sorry

    Re: MSI P35 PLATINUM, iP35, S 775 revision?

Revisions of stock can not be checked before we ship. We ship 1000's of parcels daily and it would not be possible to gaurantee the revision.

Can your suppliers not check to see what revision they are sending you? i.e. they can ask their sources?

someone must know this is silly.....

    Re: MSI P35 PLATINUM, iP35, S 775 revision?

You could return as not faulty within 7 days, a refund would be processed minus carriage charges and the board would need to be returned at your own cost.

Motherboards cannot be ordered against a specific revision this is impossible - If we could we would ..

    Regards
