    Card Readers and SDHC

Can a normal card reader like an intergrated one in a laptop read an SDHC card or do I need to buy one that is compatible?

    Cheers in Advance

    It has to support SDHC.
SDHC slots support both SDHC cards and normal SD/MMC. It is backwards compatible, but older SD/MMC slots do no support SDHC unless specified.

    Re: Card Readers and SDHC

From Scan so far I have used their Vantager and Veho USB SD reader which both read SDHC. There is another one claiming SDHC (Epraizer).
As of 2 weeks ago the scan own internal one I had only takes up to 2GB (non SDHC).

You dont list your laptop model, but enquire or search thru its makers pages. Otherwise just try it and see, you know you can buy a reader for a few pounds should it not be able to read via the internal.
If you really dont want an external, try to borrow a card and see or else stick with 2GB and under.
