    Asus P2-M2A690G Barebones Book PC

    I'm after the above barebones book PC, however i'm not sure about which CPU's and memory are compatible.
    Can you give me some advice?

    In regards to CPU compatibility, if you refer to the link Here this will list all the processors that have been tested and verified to work, and also if needed which BIOS revision is required.

    As for the memory, this works fine with DDR2 memory running at the following frequences ;

    533, 667, 800 Mhz.

    Regarding the memory the system would take DDR2 800Mhz / 667Mhz / 533Mhz up to 2Gb in 2 x Slots, we would recommend using Corsair memory for reliability and stability

    I'll go for Corsair on the memory.

    I did look at the CPU compatabilty list on the Asus website, but couldn't correlate the references with the ones on your website i.e. i can't make out which ones on the Asus list are single/dual/quad core. If i just go for a socket AM2 will i be OK. It'll probably be a lower end as i intend using it as an HTPC.
