9800 gx2 compatible with x48

Hi,

Title says it all really.

If I decided that one gx2 would see me through the life of rest of system I would have no need for SLI setup.

The reviews for the X48 boards appear to be much better than the 780i ones.

My only question is whether or not the GX2 9800 card is compatible with the X48 chipset ?

I'm guessing that they are, as far as the motherboard is concerned its just one card stuck in a PCI express slot. However several website are reporting that it doesn't work.

I'm looking for official word that it does work before shelling out £400 on one.

andrew, no need to make multiple threads m8 .

As far as i know there isnt any issues, im sure some1 on here has an x48 board, you could even got for an x38 board(cheaper) .
