    PSU fan staying on?

Have mentioned this in my new build thread, but is probably better to ask as a seperate question.

My PSU corsair 750 remains on after the system has been shut down. (I can still hear the fan going) I have to physicaly switch off the PSU at the back of the PC. I don't think I've missed any connectors to the MOBO from the PSU. Not sure if this is normal as on other PC's I've had the computer goes silent after I shutdown and I've not needed to turn off anything else. (maybe they didnt have psu fans though?)

So have I missed something or is this normal? I can't see any cables missing. There was a small connector on the MOBO for psu fan (like the ones you plug the case fans into) but there doesnt seem to be a small cable with connector that would fit to it from the PSU. I could have the wrong end of the stick though and that has nothing to do with it.

    Thanks

Some PSU's have intelligent cooling so that after you turn your PC off the PSU fan will continue turning for a short while to continue cooling the psu components which will still be hot after the pc has been turned off. It should, once a certain temp is reached, turn itself off.

I didnt think the Corsairs had that thermal cooling thing. Maybe they have on their new units. Post in their section and someone will let you know.

The older Enermax units used to have it though.

How long does it do it for if you don't kill the power to it?

Problem solved. I was just being impatient. The fan runs for a while after PC shuts down, then goes silent. I just wasn't giving it long enough. Cool beans.
