Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the XMP just a heatsink?

    Re: using 2 diferent memorys

    Nope, thats DHX.

XMP is a JEDEC based performance specification for DDR3 memory SPD optimizations developed by Intel and its performance memory module partners, such as Corsair. XMP enables a robust, profile based high performance DDR3 over-clocking solution for Intel platforms targeted for enthusiasts, gamers and overclockers wanting to extract maximum performance.

Right, back to the question be the OP. If you are using the memory XMP profiles on the motherboard, then mixing XMP and none XMP memory might not be the best idea for stability reasons.

However, if your running them at the default settings, as long as they both support the same speed and CAS, RAS timings, then there shouldn't really be any issues, but obviously I cannot 100% guarantee this as you know how funny PC's can be at times.

    Best Regards,

    Re: using 2 diferent memorys

It's never recommended to use different types/makes of RAM together. Saying that does mean it won't work.

    Re: using 2 diferent memorys

Like I said, in some cases they can run together - for instance I'm running a mixture of 1 Gb Corsair Xpert PC3200XL (2 x 512 Mb) alongside 1 Gb of Corsair Pro PC3200C2 (2 x 512 Mb) on my A8N-SLI deluxe without any issues and I have had this setup for well over 2 years now

as long as both sticks run at the same timings and speeds you can get away with it. Just be sure you run BOTH sticks at speeds they BOTH support
