    Headset and mic setup.

Can anyone suggest a good headset and mic setup please?

I just sold a set of Sennheiser RS140's as the wireless interference in my room gave alot of static but when there wasn't any they were great so something similar but wired would be perfect.

Main uses are for gaming along with music and a few movies - general use.

    Thx in advance.

    Re: Headset and mic setup.

Depends really on how much money you want to spend.

For a cheap good headset you have the Sennheiser PC131> Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK

A bit more expensive but has absolutely amazing sound quality and is as robust as a welders helmet, the Sennheiser PC151> Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK

And then the daddy of them all, the Sennheiser PC350> Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK

All headphones are good for there price points with the PC151 being exceptionally good for its price. The PC350 although being expensive are a serious gamers wet dream. Best sound quality, better than you could imagine from gaming headphones and extremely comfortable.

I've only ever sworn by Sennheiser - with Logitech coming in at second choice

Yeah I like sennheisers too but the wireless ones were just to 'crackly' so I need some wired ones. I had the pc161's previous to this but found the ear cups uncomfortable for long gaming periods. Berfore them I had some medusa's which I loved but the build quality was poor and didn't last too long.

I was looking at the 350's but a friend said the sound quality was poor in comparision to the 555/595, but I don't really like using a boom mic so would prefer a set with mic attached. I'm at a loss now - maybe I will give the 350's a go.

I'd recommend Plantronics, i've had the DSP-500 for about 2 years now (use them for gaming fps mostly) and there still going, very sturdy and comfortable

What about the Plantronics .Audio 750 DSP: ?

    They're available for £45 - possibly less?

I've had a set of their old DSP 500's for about 4 years now, and they still sound as good as the day I bought 'em

    Re: Headset and mic setup.

Found some Plantronics Audio 650 DSP on amazon for £27.72 with the option of free super saver delivery from amazon.

Tbh I might try those myself, I know the Sennheiser's are good but I'd also like to have a pair that don't get uncomfortable after a while.
