Could someone recommend me some RAM with my mobo?

I've got this mobo "ASUS P5K PRO iP35 Socket 775 8 channel audio ATX"

I think I've got some bad RAM as I'm crashing with BSOD's and struggling with stability issues.

The RAM I use at the moment is A-Data Extreme Edition, I'm not overclocking and I don't intent too either.

I'm looking for some stable RAM, not too bothered about speed but something reasonable with and good value regards to price, at the moment I can't install windows, it's that bad.

Ideally I'm looking for 3-4 gig in total

    Any idea's from Scan?

Re: Could someone recommend me some RAM with my mobo?

Yeah I have but it didn't seem to do much constantly got errors.

Got 2 sticks in at the moment and so far that is letting me reinstall windows to a working state.

Once that is done I'll be running memtest overnight with the last 2 sticks.

But that kit looks good. Could well be worth a pop for that.

Quick question, I have my bios setting all on Auto, should I leave it at that or actually specify the RAM timings and latency?

I would say leave Ram setting ( timing and latency) in your bios to auto since you said you are not clocking.

Changing Ram timing and latency for overclocking only as far as i know, you may experiecen system instability if you do do so.

You might want to check out Ram configurator from Crucial website http://www.crucial.com/uk/index.aspx?cpe=CHAWKuk

For the Ram itself, Corsair/Ocz are pretty popular and I would buy the Corsair ram that LegacyOne linked, in fact i am gonna buy a kit for myself.

"I would say leave Ram setting ( timing and latency) in your bios to auto since you said you are not clocking."

Usually, but in this case try setting it by hand because it is clearly not working in auto mode.
I dont know if that ADATA forces an EPP profile or not, or whether it defaults to the usual 5-5-5-18 @1.8v.
Has this RAM always done this or its been fine and now just going wrong?
Just check the setup and try to get something stable by timing by hand. Even with jsut one stick maybe to get you up and running

That 4gb Corsair kit listed above should be fine for you if you decide to replace the ADATA.

I had a P5K I just sold recently. Most likely your BIOS that is the problem. Lots of RAM stability issues on the Asus boards, especially when using 4GB IIRC. Check out the Asus official support forums to find out what BIOS is best for your board.

Re: Could someone recommend me some RAM with my mobo?

I'd also look at setting up the RAM in the BIOS manually. Sometimes the automatic settings can cause issues as they are preset to a default. Have whirl at doing this and also perhaps updating your bios too to the latest version, as this might resolve some issues.
